A man and woman were killed when their motorcycle collided head-on with a car in St. Clair County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victims as Dustin R. Layfield, 33, and Audrey M. Peine, 25. Both lived in Pell City.

The crash happened at 8:52 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 231, about one mile north of Pell City.

Senior Trooper Vu Quang said Layfield was driving the Harley-Davidson, and Peine was his passenger. The motorcycle collided with a Toyota Camry driven by 35-year-old Billy R. McAnnally of Chelsea.

Both occupants on the motorcycle were ejected and pronounced dead on the scene.

McAnnally was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with undisclosed injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
