The season-opening game between Class 6A No. 1 Saraland and Class 4A No. 1 Jackson was billed as a showcase for some of the most talented players in the country.

In front of a record-setting crowd at Saraland, the stars did not disappoint. Senior quarterback KJ Lacey passed for 317 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Spartans to a 35-27 win in the Press-Register’s Game of the Week.
