AFROPUNK 2024: Here’s how to get last-minute tickets

AFROPUNK is returning to Brooklyn. This year, neo-soul icon Erykah Badu is set to headline event.

The two-day festival, dubbed AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA Brooklyn, will take place from Aug. 23 and 24 at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. Two-day tickets for AFROPUNK are available via Stubhub and Ticketmaster. Single-day tickets are also available via Ticketmaster for Friday and Saturday.

All tickets to this year’s AFROPUNK festival will be general admission. The move, said AFROUNK,”ensures that everyone can experience the festival’s unique blend of music, art, and culture without barriers.”

Badu’s presence at this year’s festival is an AFROPUNK homecoming– She last graced the AFROPUNK stage in 2018.

“Her return is eagerly anticipated as AFROPUNK approaches its 20th anniversary in 2025,” the festival said on its website.

“As we thought about who our festival’s Mother Earth would need to be, we felt it couldn’t be anyone else but Erykah Badu,” said Shauna Gray, Afropunk’s global head of business development, in an interview with Gothamist.

This year, the festival is partnering with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn, New York City’s longest-running free outdoor performing arts festival.

Every year AFROPUNK has a theme. This year the festival’s theme is “a celebration of the future of Black life, creativity, community, and expression reimagined.”
