Mary G. Montgomery wide receiver Jaiden Smith commits to South Alabama

On the eve of his senior football season, Mary G. Montgomery wide receiver Jaiden Smith committed to South Alabama on Thursday.

Smith (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) becomes the Jaguars’ 11th commitment for the 2025 signing class. He joins LeFlore offensive lineman Antonio Gibbs as Mobile-area pledges to South Alabama.

Smith helped MGM to a 12-1 record and a Class 7A, Region 1 championship as a junior in 2023, catching 11 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Smith’s high school quarterback, Jared Hollins, is currently a true freshman at South Alabama.

Mary G. Montgomery opens the 2024 season on Friday at Pace, Fla. The Vikings are ranked No. 7 in Class 7A by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

National signing day for high school seniors takes place in December.
