Auburn men’s basketball confirms Maui Invitational matchups

Auburn men’s basketball will play Iowa State in the first round of the Maui Invitational, followed by a matchup with either Dayton or North Carolina, the team announced in a post on X (formerly twitter) on Tuesday.

The games add to Auburn’s already difficult 2024-2025 nonconference schedule. Auburn now has games scheduled against five of Torvik’s projected top 10 teams, three of which in nonconference play.

If Auburn does play against North Carolina in Game 2, that number will jump to six.

UConn, Michigan State, Memphis and Colorado are the teams on the other side of the Maui Invitational bracket.

“This year’s Maui Invitational is one of the strongest fields in tournament history,” tournament chairman Dave Odom said in a release. “The field is packed with teams looking to make a run in the NCAA Tournament along with UConn who is making their fifth appearance in the Maui Invitational and looking to defend their back-to-back national championships.”

The tournament will take place from Nov. 25-27.
