2 men killed in separate early-morning Birmingham area shootings
Two men were killed in separate early-morning shootings in the Birmingham area.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Brandon Barclay Jones, 44, and D’Anthony Dejuan Jones, 22.
Brandon Jones was shot at 1:03 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Woodslee Street on in eastern Jefferson County. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:28 a.m.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are investigation his slaying.
D’Anthony Jones was shot at 1 a.m. in the 2100 block of Avenue I in Ensley.
He was taken to UAB Hospital where he died at 1:39 a.m.
Birmingham police are investigating his slaying.
No additional details have been released in either killing.
The deadly shootings mark the 101st homicide in Birmingham this year, and the 128th in all of Jefferson County.
