Courtney Morgan hasn’t even been Alabama football’s general manager for a full calendar year, but he already has a new contract on the docket.

A new deal for Morgan will be considered on Tuesday during the compensation committee meeting for the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees.

The previous contract Morgan signed included an annual base salary of $500,000. The new contract will likely be a pay increase from that base salary.

Others who will have new contracts considered Tuesday include women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry, men’s tennis coach George Husack, gymnastics coach Ashley Johnston, rowing coach Glenn Putyrae, track and field coach Dan Waters and associate baseball coach Jason Jackson.

Morgan followed new Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer from Washington where Morgan filled a similar role; Morgan was literally on the plane with DeBoer when DeBoer first landed in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 12.

As general manager, Morgan has been an integral leader in landing what is currently ranked the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation and the No. 1 recruiting class in the SEC for 2025, per On3.

“Courtney is such an important part of our program,” DeBoer said in a statement on the UA website. “He has great relationships across the country and is an essential part of helping us recruit and evaluate talent both at the high school level and in the transfer portal. Courtney is an important pillar in what we are trying to accomplish at Alabama, and I am very excited to be able to bring him to Tuscaloosa.”

Morgan has also worked for Michigan, San Jose State and Fresno State, where he also worked with DeBoer. During his playing career, Morgan was an offensive lineman for Michigan two decades ago, and he was a three-year letterman starting 11 games and playing in 28 over five seasons.
