Observations from Auburn football fall practice No. 12

Auburn football hit the practice field for the 12th time this fall camp Friday morning.

The media viewing window last around 20 minutes and included individual drills followed by one-on-ones.

Here are some observations from Friday’s practice:

Participation report

  • Senior linebacker Austin Keys was dressed but was working individually during the media viewing window inside Auburn’s indoor practice field.
  • Tight end Rico Walker was alongside Keys indoors during the media viewing window.
  • Sophomore kicker Alex McPherson was at practice, but in street clothes as he continues to recover from a gastrointestinal illness.
  • Redshirt freshman corner JC Hart had on a gold non-contact jersey but didn’t appear limited.
  • KeAndre Lambert-Smith didn’t participate in Auburn’s scrimmage last week but was a full participant in drills during the media viewing window.

Other Observations

  • Sam Jackson V made a nice one-handed catch in the endzone during a fade route drill
  • Holden Geriner, Hank Brown, Walker White was the order of the quarterbacks during drills after Payton Thorne. Hugh Freeze said before practice that he hasn’t told the group yet, but has a good idea of who will start getting the majority of second team reps at quarterback.
  • Camden Brown made a nice contested catch in the endzone during one-on-one drills
  • Sylvester Smith had a good rep in coverage against Rivaldo Fairweather during one-on-one’s, forcing an incompletion.
