The 2024 college football season is going to be historic, I’m not sure you’ve heard about that just yet.

If I must briefly remind you why, here’s a bit of a synopsis.

• -Nick Saban is no longer coaching college football, you may have read that on this website.
• -Texas and Oklahoma are now in the SEC, another thing you may have read on this website.
• -The Pac-12 no longer exists after multiple teams exited for the Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC, leaving both Oregon State and Washington State alone in the house like Kevin McCallister during Christmas.

With that being said, it’s time for the AL.com Top 25 to return for the second-straight season. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s a “non-scientific” scientific poll done by myself each Sunday for AL.com since the fine folks of the Associated Press won’t allow me to vote in their poll.

For the first edition of the 2024 preview, I’ve decided to have a bit of fun.

I will attempt to rank the 25-best teams in college football and giving my assessment of them in three words or less.
