ALDOT begins work on new Northern Beltline segment

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is making progress on Birmingham’s long-delayed Northern Beltline. Construction recently began in the Pinson area on a section of the project that will connect US 31 to I-59 just north of Trussville.

This connection is scheduled to take around 2.5 years to complete and is not currently expected to cause any traffic delays or lane closures, according to ALDOT East Central Region Engineer DeJarvis Leonard.
