Huntsville police are seeking a person in connection with a deadly shooting Sunday.

According to police, Kirk Urban, 49, was the victim in a shooting that happened about 9:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Hobbs Island Road.

Police found Urban with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He later died at Huntsville Hospital.

According to police, a witness told investigators Urban was in a verbal altercation with a middle-aged white male when shots were fired. 

Investigators believe the unknown man was swimming nearby, with his wife and two children, before the altercation took place.

That same witness told investigators the family fled the area in a white, full-size, crew-cab pickup truck.
