25-year-old Tuscaloosa man charged in fatal shooting of his mother, her boyfriend

A 25-year-old man is behind bars after his mother and her boyfriend were fatally shot inside their Tuscaloosa home.

Tuscaloosa police received a 911 call at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday from someone in the residence in 3700 block of 25th Place.

When they arrived, Keaundra Lee Hawkins was outside the home and told them his mother and her boyfriend had been shot.

Inside police found Antionette Hawkins, 62, and Mcran James Montgomery, 63, dead.

Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said investigators determined that one of the victims made the 911 call.

Evidence was found during the investigation that identified Keaundra Hawkins as the suspect, Kennedy said. He did not elaborate.

Keaundra Hawkins is charged with capital murder and remains held without bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

A motive has not been disclosed.
