Suspect charged with capital murder in weekend shooting in Montgomery
A suspect is in custody in connection with a weekend shooting in Montgomery that left one man dead and another injured.
Nathaniel Irving, 21, is charged with capital murder in the slaying of 44-year-old Samuel Brown. He is charged with attempted murder in the wounding of the second victim.
Both victims showed up at the hospital shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, said police Maj. Saba Coleman.
Brown was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
Coleman said investigators determined the shooting happened in the 2400 block of Locust Street, No additional details were released.
Irving was taken into custody Tuesday by the police department’s Special Operations unit. He is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
A motive has not been disclosed.
