1 dead, 1 injured in north Alabama motorcycle crash

A Florence man was killed Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Limestone County.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the crash happened at about 5:44 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 72 near Little Elk Road, about two miles east of Rogersville.

Sidney T. Hamilton, 19, was injured when the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle that he was operating struck a 2019 Honda CR-V, driven by Terry L. Albright, 63, of Nanty Glo, Penn.

Hamilton was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Albright was injured and transported to Athens Limestone Hospital for treatment.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
