Drone show will close out Huntsville’s free Concerts in the Park series

Huntsville’s free Concerts in the Park series closes Aug. 5 with a first for the city, courtesy of a local engineering firm that’s celebrating 25 years in business.

Intuitive Research and Technology Corp., a sponsor of the annual 10-week concert series held at Big Spring Park, will put on a drone performance – with 300 of the devices executing a synchronized aerial light show – after the concerts wrap at about 8:30 p.m.

“When we were considering how we wanted to celebrate our anniversary, it felt natural for us to involve the community,” Intuitive spokesperson Nikki Ficken said in a news release. “Intuitive is dedicated to making a positive difference where we work, live, and play, so we wanted to provide an unforgettable experience, not only for our organization but for the local area.”
