Alabama-roots stars crowd into ‘The Top 100 NFL Players of 2024’

The first 60 players revealed as members of “The Top 100 NFL Players of 2024” included seven Alabama alumni.

The 10 revealed on Monday featured four with Alabama football roots – New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams (Wenonah) at No. 32, Jacksonville Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Hines-Allen (Abbeville) at No. 35, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) at No. 36 and Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (Wenonah, Alabama) at No. 37.

NFL Network continued to unveil its 14th annual poll of NFL players by releasing on Monday the No. 31 through No. 40 finishers in the voting for this season’s list of the best players in the league.

A first-team All-Pro selection in 2023, Quincy Williams made his “Top 100 Players” debut, as did Hines-Allen in the player poll.

Quinnen Williams ranked No. 40 in last year’s poll, and Tagovailoa was No. 82 in 2023.

The seven Crimson Tide alumni who preceded the Monday foursome in “The Top 100 NFL Players of 2024” included Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry at No. 49, Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II at No. 52, Washington Commanders defensive tackle Jonathan Allen at No. 54, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle at No. 63, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper at No. 70, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick at No. 79 and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith at No. 90.

The countdown of “The Top 100 NFL Players of 2024” will continue 10 at a time at 11 a.m. CDT for the next two weekdays on NFL+. The top 10 players will be revealed at 7 p.m. Friday on NFL Network.
