17-year-old boy among 2 killed in separate Talladega shootings

Investigations are underway after two people were killed in weekend Talladega shootings, including a 17-year-old boy.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Talladega police were called to 1620 Old Shocco Road on a report of two people shot.

Lt. Dennis McDaniel said when police arrived, they found a man and a woman both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken by ambulance Citizen’s Baptist Medical Center.

Later that morning, McDaniel said, detectives were notified that the male victim had died. He has been identified as 34-year-old Dahkari A. Wilson.

Then, at 11:32 a.m., police were dispatched to a call of someone shot at Sunrise apartments.

Patrol officers found the 17-year-old victim wounded and rendered aid to him, but he died on the scene. Authorities have not released his name.
