Legendary Rock star returning to stage after illness

Neil Young is coming back to perform.

Rolling Stone reports that Young is set to play Farm Aid at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sept. 21 in New York just a month after ending his tour early due to illness.

According to the report, Young has played every Farm Aid dating back to its inception in 1985, except for 2021 and 2022 when he sat out due to COVID-19.

Nelson, who has had his health issues and illness of late, said the group was “energized to be back in New York,” in a statement.

“The farmers here have always found ways to innovate and contribute to their communities, even as they deal with uncertainties, extreme weather and policies that favor corporations over people. Farmers need us to stand with them as they work to grow our future.”

Young, per the report, will be among performers like Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, and others.

Young and his band, Crazy Horse, called off their “Love Earth Your,” last month but played in Alabama in May.

Young said in a statement last month that “a couple of us got sick” following their June 22 performance in Michigan. They then postponed a pair of shows in Texas before deciding to wrap things up.

“The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far,” he said in a statement on his website. “GREAT AUDIENCES AND MUSIC. WE HAVE HAD A BLAST! When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop.

“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again!”
