42-year-old woman killed when SUV crashes into tree in Tuscaloosa

A woman was killed Monday morning when her vehicle crashed into a tree in Tuscaloosa.

Tuscaloosa officers were dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Hargrove Road East and 45th Street East just after 8 a.m., said police spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor.

The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was driving a 2006 Ford Explorer traveling north on Hargrove Road East when it left the roadway and struck a tree in the front yard of a home in the 4500 block of 45th Street East.

The 42-year-old Greensboro woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
