17 arrested in Alabama online child sex sting
A two-day internet sting resulted in the arrest of 17 men who authorities say tried to arrange sex with children.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Opelika Police, Lee County District Attorney’s Office and Covenant Rescue Group conducted the operation July 18 and 19.
During the operation, undercover investigators chatted online with 249 individuals, and 17 of them traveled to a Lee County motel, believing they would meet a 15-year-old female.
The man arrested on allegations of prostitution with a minor were:
Wesley Lamar Thomas, 33; Quinton Devaughn Henderson, 23; Jacinto Garcia Perez, 45; Stephen Michael Jones, 39; Deangelo Bernard Farrow, 27; James Christopher Barrett, 44; Deontavian Zavarious Woody, 32; Sung Hoon Lee, 29; Ronnie L. Johnson, 51; Michael Dylan Johnson, 23; Luis Alonso Antonio Contreras, 31; Jordan Isaiah Paradise, 25; Daniel Christopher Kendrick, 41; Alfonzo Gomez Guzman, 27; Mario Kantrell Carter, 32, and Carl Bellamy, 26.
Willie James Harris, 31, was also arrested on charges of traveling to meet a minor, electronic solicitation of a minor and felony promoting prostitution of a minor.
Each man has a bond of at least $110,000.
