A bystanders and first responder revived an 11-month-old baby who nearly drowned at a Destin beach on Friday evening, the authorities said.
The baby was face down and unresponsive in the water at Norriego Point Beach Access and Park, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. A family member and bystander pulled the child out of the water around 7 p.m., the sheriff’s office said in a release on Facebook.

The family member and bystander performed CPR until the U.S. Coast Guard arrived. The baby and parents waited at a Coast Guard station until a helicopter arrived to transport them for further medical assistance.
