Memorial service set for north Alabama girl who drowned on her 2nd birthday
A memorial service has been set for a two-year-old who died earlier this month after she was pulled unconscious from a pool.
A celebration of life for Violet Satterfield of Arab will take place at Bullard Farm Hitchin’ Post in Snead, 3019 Co. Rd. 14, on July 24 at 6 p.m.
Attendees are asked to wear purple in Satterfield’s honor.
The child was pulled from a pool on her second birthday on July 1.
Violet Mae and her family were celebrating her birthday when she sneaked into a swimming pool without her floatation devices, her family said.
She was flown to Children’s of Alabama for treatment. She died July 8.
She was remembered as enjoying singing, dancing and watching the television show “Bluey.”
“Violet Mae Satterfield’s time on Earth may have been brief, but the love and joy she brought into the lives of others will be forever remembered,” her obituary reads. “She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.”
