Biden vs. Trump latest presidential poll: Who is winning? And by how much?

Former President Donald Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden in the most recent polls even as Republicans are ready for a dramatic – and emotional – convention after an assassination attempt on their presumptive nominee.

The most recent national presidential poll was conducted by Nobile Predictive Insights July 8-11, before the shooting at a Pennsylvania rally that injured Trump and two others and killed one person. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was killed at the scene.

The Nobile poll shows Trump with a 3 percentage point advantage in both a head-to-head matchup with Biden and a five candidate field that includes the two front runners, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West and Jill Stein. In the two candidate, race, the poll shows Trump leads Biden 46% to 43%. In the five-candidate race, Trump polled at 43% compared to 40% for Biden, 7% for Kennedy, and 1 percent, each, for West and Stein.

The poll was conducted among 2,300 likely voters – 1,006 Republicans, 1,117 Democrats and 172 independents. Its margin of error was plus/minus 2 percent.

The poll numbers are in keeping with national numbers that show Trump’s lead growing in the wake of Biden’s disastrous debate at the end of June.

Project538.com’s compilation of polls, which includes the Nobile survey, shows Trump at 42.3% compared to Biden 40.4%. Kennedy’s average was 9%. According to 538.com, 95% of national polling averages fall within that range.
