Actor from two of the most popular TV shows of the 1980s and 90s has died
James B. Sikking featured in two of the most popular TV shows of the 1980s has died at the age of 90.
PEOPLE confirmed the news with his publicist, Cynthia Synder.
The “Hill Street Blues” actor died “peacefully at his Los Angeles home surrounded by family.”
The cause of death was complications with dementia.
The Emmy nominee, who’s career spanned over more than six decades, was best recognized for playing Lt. Howard Hunter, the leader of the precinct’s Emergency Action Team, on “Hill Street Blues” from 1981 to 1987.
He also had a lead role as Dr. David Howser, the father to boy genius Doogie on “Doogie Howser, M.D.” from 1989 to 1993.
