Mobile Housing Authority CEO accuses mayor, council members of ‘smear campaign’
The CEO of the Mobile Housing Authority is blasting Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson, and the City Council for what he says is a “smear campaign” against the agency and himself, accusing them of supporting past efforts that would have “effectively put MHA out of business.”
Michael Pierce, in a blistering four-page letter on Thursday to the MHA’s board of commissioners, said he feels that the city should be “incensed” that its city leaders have refused “to congratulate and/or acknowledge MHAs Board, executives and staff for the agency’s remarkable turnaround.”
