A major change may be coming to this Costco product

Could Costco be changing the size of its famous muffins?

The rumors are swirling, reports Eat This, Not That.

In a July 2 Reddit post, an alleged Costco worker claimed the retailer is planning to reduce the size of its bakery muffins. Costco’s muffins are massive– the baked goods are known for being close to the size of small cakes, the site reported.

In the post, the alleged worker shared a side-by-side photo of larger tins used to make the current muffins next to a pan with smaller sized muffins that will reportedly be used going forward. The smaller-sized muffins will be sold in packs of eight. Currently, the large muffins are sold six to a package.

It’s unclear if all varieties of Costco muffins will make the move to the smaller size or just select flavors. The warehouse chain recently introduced two new smaller muffin varieties, the website reported – lemon raspberry and butter pecan.

Costco will stop selling books. Here’s why

Costco will stop selling books until September.

Books at the retail giant will only be stocked from September to December and as part of special promotions. The change is expected to take place in January of next year.

According to the New York Times, several publishing industry executives cited the increased labor of stocking books as a possible reason for the change. Unlike most Costco products that can be rolled out on a pallet, books have to be arranged manually by workers, driving up costs, executives said.
