Madison police have charged an 18-year-old with murder following a fatal shooting last week.

Christopher Saam of Madison has been charged in connection with the death of Brian Wiggins Jr., 18, of Decatur.

According to police the shooting happened July 3. Saam was arrested Saturday.

The arrest came after police executed search and arrest warrants at a house in Madison.

Saam was taken to the Madison County Jail.

The investigation is continuing, according to police.
