Huntsville teenager killed in Sunday morning collision
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that a 17-year-old from Huntsville was killed in a collision Sunday morning on U.S. 72.
A news release from ALEA did not name the minor. The crash took place about 8:30 a.m. Sunday near the 119 mile marker on U.S. 72 in Jackson County, about halfway between Huntsville and Scottsboro.
According to ALEA, the 2015 Altima driven by the teen hit a 1988 Chevrolet C2500 pickup driven by Rodney L. Quick, 50, of New Hope, then struck a trailer pulled by a 1988 Chevrolet R3500 driven by Shelby R. Cloud Jr., 52, of Huntsville.
ALEA reported that the teen driver had not been wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers continue to investigate the incident, the ALEA statement said.
