A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Blount County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Justin P. King. He was 23 and lived in Cleveland.

King was a full-time firefighter in Hoover and also worked in Center Point.

The crash happened at 8 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 31 near Church Street, about two miles south of Garden City.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said King was driving a Harley Davidson that left the road and hit a utility pole.

King was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact and pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
