Hot, humid and heat advisories for Alabama Tuesday

The forecast for Alabama is typical for July: Hot and humid. But both of those things will be elevated enough to prompt heat advisories for the southern part of the state.

Today could be the start of several days of heat advisories for Alabama, according to the National Weather Service.

South Alabama will be under heat advisories on Tuesday, while slightly drier air and more clouds will help keep the heat index in check in northern parts of the state.

South Alabama will be very hot, and the National Weather Service in Mobile said the heat index (or “feels like” temperature) in some areas could peak at 112 degrees this afternoon in parts of southwest Alabama.
