Kevin Costner confirms he won’t return to Yellowstone: ‘I’ll see you at the movies’

Kevin Costner broke the news Thursday night on social media that he will not be returning to “Yellowstone.”

“I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue season 5B or into the future,” Costner said in a video posted on “X,” the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. (The show) was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning.”

“I love the relationship we have been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

What that means for his character, John Dutton, is anyone’s guess at this point.

Paramount Network announced earlier in the day that the second half of Season 5 was set to debut in November, but whether Costner would return was still in doubt.

The actor has been working on his Western film series “Horizon: An American Saga,” which is due in theaters next week.
