Authorities are on the scene of a fatal crash on Interstate 65 in Homewood.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 11 a.m. Tuesday on I-65 southbound at the Oxmoor Road exit.

Homewood police Sgt. John Carr said a pickup truck was towing another pickup truck. Both overturned.

One person man was pronounced dead on the scene. The second was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

That portion of the interstate is shut down.
