Some tiny doughnuts just got props from a big app.

Yelp features Huntsville founded Bigfoot’s Little Donuts to rep Alabama in their new “Best Donut Shop in Every State” list.

The list was determined by business review platform Yelp’s “Elite,” a community chosen for being active users creating quality content on that platform.

Of Bigfoot’s doughnuts, Yelp’s list says, “‘Super light and fried to perfection with a slight crunch,’ they’re the ‘perfect little bites.’”

Since opening around 2013, Bigfoot’s Little Donuts has gone from passion project to two-store business. Then a government contractor, Brian Steele and wife launched Bigfoot’s as a food trailer. The business grew from a smaller trailer to a larger trailer to, about six years ago, a brick-and-mortar shop in south Huntsville. Next, they opened a Madison shop.

The first part of the business name is a nod to 1987 movie “Harry and the Hendersons,” a fave of Brian’s. The second part’s literal: They do mini cake donuts (which don’t require proofing), cooked to order lickety-split by the dozen.

Yelp, which is headquartered in San Francisco, notes Bigfoot’s mini doughnuts are available in 63 flavors. According to owner Brian Steele, the must-try glazes are cinnamon roll and maple glaze. A Yelp Elite with the handle Maddie H. writes, “Just about the most amazing donuts I’ve ever tried. We gobbled the whole box—no regrets. Definitely a Huntsville gem.”
