Two 19-year-olds charged in Montgomery shooting that killed 1, wounded 2

Two young men have been charged in the shooting death of a 26-year-old man in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Police Department’s SWAT team and the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force took the pair into custody Wednesday.

Jeremiah Jackson, 19, of Montgomery, and Jayden Perry, 19, of Prattville, are charged with murder.

Killed in the May 29 shooting was Johnny Butler Jr.

The shooting happened at 11:30 p.m. that Wednesday in the 1000 block of Ann Street.

Butler was pronounced dead on the scene.

Two other men had also been wounded. One suffered life-threatening injuries and the other is expected to be OK.

Additional details have not been released, and a motive has not been disclosed.

Both men are being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center.
