Brendan Donovan never got to play at Rickwood Field while he lived and learned the game of baseball in Alabama.

But the left-handed utility fielder and emerging leader for the St. Louis Cardinals, a fixture with the team since the 2022 season, will make history in his still-young professional career: on June 20 he will become the only Alabamian to ever play an in-season Major League Baseball game in the State of Alabama in the league’s 155 years of existence.
