A motorcyclist was killed in a predawn crash in Winston County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Walter D. Watkins Jr. He was 52 and lived in Bankston.

The wreck happened at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday on Alabama 13 near U.S. 278. That location is less than a mile from Lynn.

Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Watkins was driving a Harley Davidson that left the road and overturned.

Watkins was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene.
