South Alabama adds JUCO lineman to 2024 recruiting class

South Alabama added a player to its 2024 football recruiting class on Friday, with the commitment of junior-college offensive lineman Hayden Dozier.

Dozier, from Northwest Mississippi Community College, has three years of eligibility remaining. The Amory, Miss., native played both center and guard in 2023 for the Rangers, who finished 7-3.

Dozier will be one of six newcomers on the South Alabama offensive line this season. Purdue transfer Malachi Preciado joined the team in January and emerged from spring practice as the first-team center.

South Alabama also signed high school linemen Asher Hale (St. Paul’s) and Logan Joellenbeck (Foley) in December, and has added two Division I veterans via the transfer portal since the end of spring practice. Ethan Hubbard (Duke) and Jayden Hobson (Mississippi State) were set to enroll in school this week in time for summer workouts.

South Alabama is expected to announce its full list of football newcomers in the coming days.
