As U.S. stocks closed lower Wednesday under the weight of higher yields in the bond market, winners on our local list were hard to find. And even with the day’s biggest winner, percentage-wise, the per-share gain was just more than a dime.

Community Health Systems Inc., gained 3.3% ($0.12) to close at $3.74. First US Bancshares Inc. was the only other stock on our list up more than one full percent; it was up 2.1% ($0.21), closing at $10.11. The day’s losers were plenty, but no stock fell more than 3%.

The S&P 500 fell 0.7%, sinking further from its record set last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.1% and the Nasdaq composite fell 0.6% after setting its latest all-time high.
