Man charged with robbing two Mobile massage parlors, asking for ‘sexual favors’
A Satsuma man is in Mobile Metro Jail, charged with the armed robbery of two Mobile massage parlors.
Mobile police said 27-year-old Coby Lee Malone was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
He was booked into Mobile Metro Jail, charged with two counts of 1st-degree burglary and one count of 4th-degree theft of services. He is being held without bond pending a Friday court appearance.
Police responded to the first of the two burglaries on May 10 at Aroma Massage on Azalea Road in Mobile Officers learned the suspect, later identified as Malone, brandished a handgun and demanded money after he had asked for, but was denied, a sexual favor.
Two weeks later, on May 24, officers were again called to a massage parlor, this time Yu Ying Massage and Foot Care on Cottage Hill Road. Once again, officers were told the suspect had produced a handgun, pointed it at an employee and demanded money after again being denied a sexual favor.
Court records show Malone pleaded guilty in July 2023 to 1st-degree burglary with injury for a September 2020 incident in which he broke into a woman’s apartment, struck her in the face, choked her and hit her on the head with a phone.
Malone was given a one-year suspended jail sentence and placed on two years probation.
