The AHSAA Wrestling Duals championships are set after Ranburne beat St. James 36-28 on Wednesday night to finalize the field for the finals on Friday at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham.

The girls’ wrestling tournament preliminary weight division rounds will begin Thursday at Thompson High School. The championship matches are set for 11:15 a.m. at Bill Harris Arena.

Boys’ champions will be crowned in 7A, 6A, 5A and 1A/4A divisions, with no returning champs advancing this season. Last season’s champs were Thompson in 7A, Arab in 5A/6A and Ashville in 1A/4A.

Competing for the crowns this year are Huntsville and Smiths Station in 7A, Mortimer Jordan and Mountain Brook in 6A, Jasper and Tallassee in 5A and Dora vs. Ranburne in 1A/4A.
