Gun taken from student at Huntsville’s Lee/New Century High School for 2nd time in 2 weeks
A student at Huntsville’s Lee/New Century Technology High School was found with a gun on Wednesday.
WHNT is reporting the weapon was discovered without incident, and the student was removed from campus.
It’s the second time in two weeks that a student at the school has been found with a gun. On Jan. 5, another student had a gun confiscated without incident.
School officials said the student will face disciplinary action in line with the district’s Behavioral Learning Guide (BLG), and thanked students for reporting the incident.
In October, students at McDonnell Elementary discharged a weapon while handling it in a restroom. And last February, one student suffered a non-life threatening self-inflicted wound in an incident at Sonnie Hereford Elementary.
