Gunfire in west Birmingham leaves 2 injured, believed to be father and young son
Sunday afternoon gunfire in west Birmingham left two people injured, one of them believed to be a juvenile.
West Precinct officers were dispatched at 1:58 p.m. to a shooting in the 1500 block of Cullman Avenue.
They arrived to find one person wounded. The initial reports are that the victim’s injuries are life-threatening.
Minutes later – at 2:08 p.m. – a second victim showed up at Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Station 16 on Avenue I in Ensley. That victim – initially reported to be a juvenile – also sustained serious injures.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the two shootings are possibly connected.
