Walmart is closing more stores: Here’s where
More Walmart closings are on the way.
Business Insider reports Walmart will close a Bay Area store later in May, as well as a Neighborhood Market in Milwaukee. This will bring the confirmed closures in 2024 to eight total.
According to Business Insider, layoff notices were also filed with the state of Wisconsin and California, following the closure of four stores in California, one in Maryland, and one in Ohio.
Walmart had over 4,600 retail locations in the U.S. as of February. That number includes 3,560 supercenters, 360 discount stores, and 675 neighborhood markets. The company also owns nearly 600 Sam’s Club warehouses.

Earlier this month, Walmart announced it will close all 51 of its health clinics and shut its virtual health care operations, according to a report from Reuters.
