Cicadas provide example of nature humbling us in our own back yards
Some of you may feel compelled to get on a plane to follow a once or twice in a lifetime solar eclipse.
But the big events of my life tend to be outside my back door.
The periodic cicadas arrived in Alabama last week. The last time I met with them, I was 13 years younger and still had some hair that wasn’t bone white. I remember vividly every detail.
