The first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs delivered many great moments, and more entertaining action is in store for the second round. In the East, the Knicks battle the Pacers while the Celtics take on the Cavaliers. Out West, the Timberwolves go up against the Nuggets, and the Mavericks square up against the Thunder. As the chase for the NBA championship continues, let’s take a closer look at the latest NBA Finals odds after Round 1.

2024 NBA Finals odds after Round 1: Celtics lead the way

The Boston Celtics are the current favorites to win the NBA Finals. More specifically, Boston has odds of +115 to win it all on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Celtics made quick work of the Heat in the first round, winning the series 4-1. Now, the Celtics face the Cavaliers in the second round, who are coming off a series victory over the Magic. Boston enters the second round well-rested thanks to their quick first round series, while Cleveland cannot say the same after their first round series went seven games.

This series will be an interesting one to watch unfold, as Boston’s potent offense goes up against Cleveland’s stingy defense. The Celtics are second in the Eastern Conference in points per game with 120.6, while the Cavs hold opponents to 110.2 points per game, which is good for seventh-best in the NBA.

In addition, Boston shoots an exceptional 48.7% from the field, but Cleveland holds opponents to a shooting percentage of 46.3%. In the regular season, Boston and Cleveland met three times with the Celtics going 2-1.

The first game between the Celtics and Cavaliers is set for Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. ET on TNT.

2024 NBA Finals championship odds: Defending champs in 0-2 hole

The Denver Nuggets won the NBA Finals last season, and they are looking to become the first back-to-back champions since the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

The Nuggets looked like a championship team in the first round, taking care of the Lakers with ease and winning the series in five games. However, they have lost the first two games of the second round against the Timberwolves. Minnesota won the first game 106-99 and won Game 2 by a score of 106-80.

Finding themselves in an 0-2 hole, the Nuggets have seen their NBA Finals odds move all the way to +1500 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Game 3 between the Nuggets and Timberwolves is set for Friday, May 10 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

In the East, the New York Knicks are aiming to bring home their first NBA title since 1973. After taking down the 76ers in the first round, the Knicks are going up against the Pacers in the second round.

New York is out to a 1-0 series lead, as they defeated Indiana 121-117 on Monday night. Game 2 is set for Wednesday, May 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
