Auburn Buc-ee’s, Alabama’s fourth location, is opening soon
Buc-ee’s is planning to open its Auburn location in April.
That’s according to the Opelika-Auburn News, citing the chain’s public relations firm.
It’s the Texas-based convenience store chain’s fourth location in Alabama, following Athens, which opened in November, Leeds and Loxley.
Several jobs are currently posted for the Auburn location, including managerial, stocker, cashier and other positions.
The $45 million travel center, with 120 gas pumps and the usual rollcall of Buc-ee’s treats, broke ground in November 2021 with a projected opening date of one year later.
Buc-ee’s is expected to generate up to $2.6 million in revenue annually for Auburn in city taxes. It’s also an important addition at exit 50 off Interstate 85.
Last November, the chain also broke ground on a new 75,000 square foot location in Texas, to be slightly larger than a store in Tennessee that currently holds the record for the world’s largest convenience store, according to CBS Austin.
