Authorities are searching for family members of two people who died at UAB Hospital in recent weeks.

The bodies are ready to be released for burial, but the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not been able to locate their next of kin. Both died of natural causes.

Kay Starr Stevens, an 84-year-old white female, died April 20.

Stevens in 2017 listed a home address in the 6900 block of Higdon Road in Birmingham and most recently a home address in the 900 block of Phillips Street in Gadsden.

Alan Lee Brimer, a 72-year-old white male, died April 15.

Brimer in 2020 listed a home address in the 8200 block of Country Circle in Pinson and has lived in the Birmingham area since at least 1991.
