67-year-old man killed in single-vehicle Pinson crash
A man injured in a Friday crash in eastern Jefferson County has died.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the fatality victim as Carl Stanley McMurrey. He was 67 and lived in Fort Payne.
The wreck happened at 8:14 a.m. Friday in the 6700 block of Highway 79 in the Pinson area.
Authorities said McMurrey was the driver and lone occupant of a Ford Mustang involved in a single-vehicle crash. No additional details were released.
McMurrey was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:02 p.m. Sunday.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the circumstances around the deadly crash.
