Three men have died following a shooting at Florida birthday party early Sunday morning.

The Escambia (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to an adult birthday party in the area of 65th Avenue and Jackson Street at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

Three men were found shot inside a vehicle parked in a lot alongside 65th Avenue.

The men, who were not identified, died of their injuries.

“This is a terrible tragedy that we are investigating as a targeted ambush,” Sheriff Chip Simmons said.

All available investigators have been called in and the real-time crime center has been activated, Simmons said.
