5 injured in shooting at strip mall in Mobile
A shooting at a Mobile strip mall injured five people on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
A city spokesman, Blake Brown, told AL.com that the injuries are not life-threatening.
According to multiple local news reports, there was a shootout at a strip mall on Cottage Hill Road and Pleasant Valley Circle. It started with an argument between two customers at a barbershop, according to WKRG News.
WKRG reported that the two men who pulled guns were injured, as well as another person in the barbershop. A woman across the street also was struck in the leg by stray gunfire, according to multiple stations. All were reportedly taken to the hospital.
Brown confirmed the afternoon shooting but did not provide any further details.
“Since there are a lot of moving parts to this, I don’t expect any other updates to be released at this time,” Brown wrote in an email.
